What a lovely phrase that is for me. What memories or feelings does it evoke for you?
I think of the solstice, the "longest day" of the year, feeling I have all the time in the world to do what I want....
In this modern day world, it feels to some of us that we NEVER have enough time. It is one of the most difficult aspects of our busy lives to carve time out for things that really matter to us - friends, family, having a pleasing environment in our home, riding our motorcycles, visiting interesting places, or just spending the day "doing nothing". What would you do, or do more of, if you had "all the time in the world" to do what you want, rather than what you "should"?
If your answer is "I don't know" spend a minute (just 60 seconds) letting your mind take you on a little daydream...you know, when all the rules of reality are suspended, and see what you come up with. No matter how stupid, crazy, or impossible it seems, aknowledge it, respect it, and remember it. Then take another minute to take the next step and do the following.
If you already know what the answer is, take a minute to say to yourself, "I will find a way to do that." The really cool thing is YOU DON'T HAVE TO KNOW how you're going to accomplish it. If you do know, GREAT! But simply by setting the intent to do that for yourself, you set in motion a greater possibility that you will actually do it, that resources will come your way to make your wish more likely to come true. I know this sounds like a really naive thinking, but that which we nurture becomes stronger, and spending time thinking of what you want to do, and imagining what you want to do is mentally nurturing the idea of what you want to happen. Even if it doesn't happen, thinking about something pleasant is likely to provide a "mini vacation" from the usual litany of complaints, judgements, to-do lists, and worries that generally occupy our minds.
It is one of the greatest gifts I have learned to give myself, and a real little miracle it is because I was raised to believe I had to have plans A through Z, and a schedule of what was going to happen when. In 15 minute blocks of time! Just kidding about the last one. I imposed that one on myself!
HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!
